This C-130 design was featured in the November 2009 issue of Flying Models Magazine. This model is as close to true scale as any electric powered can get and still enjoy light wing loading for scale like speeds. The short kit comes with nacelles and cowls, this includes the inlet duct to keep the motors cool. 4 scale spinners and 2 extra as spares. Main gear doors, and the cockpit windows in the form of a molded plastic face. Laser cut lite ply parts and hot wire templates to make the wings.
To give you more options and to keep the cost down the wing tanks are not included in the short kit and are available under the wing tank category. You can put 1025 - 11 into the search block to be taken straight to it. ( no spaces between the dash)
Per cut wing Cores are offered by WOW Models here: http://www.wowplanes.com/product_info.php?cPath=59&products_id=182
Note that the cuts do not include the flap option to keep the cost down and allow for the non flap option.
The Plans
Three pages with top, front and side views of all the major parts of the plane. The plans also have illustrations and enough instructions to get you through the build including the wiring diagram. RC groups is hosting an extensive description of the assembly steps in the scale section of their site.
One 4x8 sheet of 2 inch extruded foam is all the material needed to complete the airframe. The book Building with foam is strongly suggested for builders with little foam construction experience.
