This P-40 short kit comes with a complete set of light weight plastic parts making your detailing job much easier. The plastic parts help to make it the lightest 1/4 scale Warbird found anywhere.
Weighing in at 17 pounds ready to fly makes this model almost half the weight of other 1/4 scale models allowing for closer to scale speeds during landing and still nimble enough for aerobatics. The model is designed to use the Robart rotating retract system but has a fixed gear option that would save another 3 1/2 pounds.
The model is constructed with 1/4 inch foam sheeting commonly referred to as fanfold. This and the rest of the materials can be bought at your local home improvement stores. Your hobby shop can supply the 3/4 oz glass cloth and Z-poxy resign for the finish. The short kit contains. Plans, three sheets - fuselage, wing and patterns. Spinner, Spinner back plate, Exhaust stacks and Manifold recess, Cowl flaps, Landing gear fairings and doors, Cockpit canopy and back windows, Cockpit instrument panel and side consoles, Pilot figure, Tail wheel doors, Gun blisters, Aluminum cowl attach brackets and all the light ply formers and ribs needed.
